“Something real, cool and solid lies before you; something unromantic as Monday morning, when all who have work wake with the consciousness that they must rise and betake themselves thereto.”

Another entry into Bear & Walrus’ summer extended play series, August, 1854 is songs about the space between hope and realization. Sprawling compositions with evolving 8bit melodies and jazzy piano solos pack 30 minutes of music into just four tracks.

August, 1812 is available both as a physical package and as a download. The package was designed and printed by Bear & Walrus, produced in a limited edition of twelve. It includes a hand silkscreened audio CD, four signed and numbered digital prints and a letter-pressed chipboard case.
